Any way I can do this?

Hi :) I'm using stablebit drivepool, it's just like raid in a way. My 4 connected hard drives have created a virtual hard drive on my home PC.

I would like to play my Data on these drives (movies etc) around my house using Nvidia shield.

Rather than using my home network. Is there away I can connect this virtual drive to my Nvidia shields across my home using a cable connection? Maybe a usb at both ends with some software or hardware on my PC

Failing that, I have a BT hub one. Is there anything that could better it for home streaming? As some of my movies are 4K high bitrate.

Thanks for any help :)

There will be a bit more to it as you will need to make the files shared in a way that the shield can see across a network, but underneath that Ethernet will handle it. With good connections you should realise in the region of 70 to 90 megabytes per second transfer rates which will be way above the rates of your 4K files I would imagine.

If the PC and Shield are on the same network (cabled preferably as suggested above) then there are probably several options. First is to share the folders on the PC (SMB) so that the Shield can 'see' them. Or run a DLNA server on the PC (Windows has one built-in, but I've never used it). Or run something like Plex on the server, which is what I do - using a Plex client on the Shield/TVs/phones/whatever will probably give the most user-friendly front end. This last option might create a bit of effort in renaming media files to match Plex's file naming rules though.
