Hi all

My girlfriend is on Virgin and has moved into a new flat which has very little/no signal.

Virgin use EE as their parent network, and thus, as they work as a generic cell, their signal boxes can be used. However, you can't just buy one, you have to be a customer and have it activated, and it has to be bought new from the company itself. They appear hesitant to give them out to even some contract customers so I am unsure if I would have any luck getting an EE sim and then asking for one after.

Is there any way around this?

Regards

I've got one that's not being used ;)

You have to be on a pay monthly account and you have to get the right person. There's a number on EE's site somewhere which if you call it they'll activate it.

If they won't activate it, just keep trying: hang up and try again.

Yeah, I have one, I use one at home, but I have taken it to my mums for a few weeks and got it to work there. They activated it no problem. Then brought it home again.

So really all you need is someone with an Orange contract to ring up, say it's theirs and they're staying at your house.
