Any way to find owner of car by reg?

Hi basically I once owned a mint and Original Vauxhall Nova GTE and stupidly sold it which I have regretted ever since.


Is there any way from the Reg to track down where it is so i could possibly make an offer to buy it back? Ive done a basic search on DVLA which has giving me nothing apart from its SORN.
 
You can tell whether its on the road I think, if its scrapped. Legally you cant just get details but a company might petition for it regarding a parking fine or whatever so you'd have to have access that way
 
buy a scanner. annonymously report car to police as speeding around your area. listen to said scanner :D
 
DVLA website usually gives a date when it was licensed or unlicensed, so if its showing a good few years ago then most likely its been scrapped, otherwise probably rotting on someones driveway or garage.

Edit: Just noticed you said its SORN, so it's still alive, get on some vauxhall owners forum and see if anyone knows about it.
