Firstly hello thanks for viewing.

I have a xspc bay res with a ddc pump. I just connected everything and started to fill the system with water turned the pump on and then noticed a drip coming from the res. So I made sure the barb was tight which is was and still a leak so I dismantled my loop and took the res out. I have just taken the barb of and noticed there is a bit of the plastic has chipped off which I think is causing the leak. I'm thinking if I wrap the barb with some ptfe tape that might fix it. I would upload a photo but no idea how to do that on a iPhone as I don't now have access to a PC. Any other ideas people can think of that might work always appreciated. Thanks

I would be worried with a bay res leaking even after using sealent. I would buy a new res or return the old one if still under warranty to be safe.

^^this would be my concern. I watched my rig intensively for the first week after finishing my loop and now I barely look. It could be at any stage it gives way and could do some serious damage.

I would rather be safe than sorry but your choice :)

Does that thing have a counter bored recess on the outside or is it flush? Hard to tell but it looks like the outside has been counterbored, and it kind of looks like the counter bore is misaligned with the actual threaded hole. Basically, if this is the case, the oring on the fitting could never fully tighten down. I certainly would trust this, a classic case for an RMA as it is a manufacturing error. It could be the angle of the photo but I would check it again, and compare it to the other ports.

Bspp threads rely on an oring fitted to the barb/compression to make a seal.

I'd get the res changed out asap.
