Any way to hurry upgrade of cabinet?

I'm in a new build, on a new estate (been here just over 2 years) - when I arrived I was excited to see the standard blurb on the openreach site:

Status: Enabled area

Your area is enabled for Superfast Fibre but your cabinet is not ready yet so you can't place an order today. It is in our plans to be upgraded and we update this info weekly, so please check back later.

2 years later I still have no FTTC and I was appalled to hear from a neighbour who has been here 5 years and is in the same boat:mad:

Leaving aside the insanity of building new estates without installing FTTP (or at the VERY least putting in new cabinets) - it seems pretty clear that Openreach has no interest in upgrading us (I guess they have met their quota for the area) - frustratingly, people on the estate on different cabinets do have fibre!

So... as I can't deal with openreach directly - is there anything I/ we can do to get our cabinets upgraded?

Funnily enough I did try passing a complaint across to Openreach - obviously their system is only designed for service providers so I had to send it in as a "you dug up the road and didn't clean up" just to open a dialogue - the team were at least good enough to get back to me but it was the standard line - I have to get Sky to contact them

The estate has quite an active facebook page so I might have to see if I can mobilise some support that way and start harrassing the local MP - anyone had success doing this?

We moved onto a new estate December last year, without knowing Broadband was not connected to the site. 6 months we had no internet.

A neighbour actually went to press about it as we kept getting fobbed off. 1 week later we managed to get ADSL2+ and a few months later we are now on fibre!

Where are you based? I had similar issues. MP's were hailing the fibre role out in my area in March 2013, in March 2015 I still had no timescales etc for anything.

I had fantastic dialogue with Liz Mallinson who is the Business Development/Programme Director, Next Generation Access Scotland, BT Group.

She took all the details, gave me weekly updates (every monday morning at 8.30am without fail - emailed update) on what was happening with my cabinet and within 5 weeks, she gave me the exact date it was live and I was connected within a week. Superb work from her and without a doubt the best customer service I've ever had.

If your in Scotland - drop her an email - not sure who is her English counterpart!

Could you share liz mallinsons contact details? I need a contact to get progression on a fibre roll out in east kilbride
