ANY WAY TO MAKE SECONDARY PCI SLOT THE PRIMARY

HI i bought a 280x vapour x a few weeks ago and have trouble fitting my asus d2 sound card intio the pci slot below it,so i tryed moving the card from the top slot down to the bottom slot with th d2 jst above it but when i rebooted i got no display,think it has something to with the top slot being the primary,is there a way round this otherwise i wont be able to use my sound card

With my Gigabyte x58 motherboard you had the option of which was the primary pci slot in the bios, try this first, depending on the MB.

not to sure if i can do it with the asus p6td delux,the only option i could see in bios was to change the lane speeds from 16x16x1 to 16x8x8

Depending on the PCI layout , a riser could give you the reach. May not be pretty though.
