I got Arma2 as a free gift from Greenmangaming a couple of years ago but never really bothered playing it. Now though I'd quite like to try the DayZ Mod and any others that might be good. Unfortunately the game has to used in conjunction with Capsule which totally and utterly sucks.

Is there anyway to transfer the game to Steam? I've tried activating the code but as expected it says its invalid.

Cheers.

I also have the capsule copy and Operation Arrowhead from Gamersgate, it would be a lot easier on Steam..

I have a spare Steam copy of Arma2 from the humble bundle if you want it?

That would be great mate, can I give you anything for it?

I have some games on Capsule and from my experience you don't actually need to load the game from Capsule, there should be a game executable somewhere on your hard drive you can launch the game from without touching capsule.

No pal it's fine, trust me your email and I'll get the game to you..

That's true as i play Arma and Dayz without using the capsule..

Thanks a lot pooley, i really appreciate it :)

I'll install Arma 2 via capsule tomorrow and see how it goes without using Capsule, that way you can give/sell the code to someone else who might need it.

My only concern is that i need Operation Arrowhead as well in order to play Dayz and i'm not sure how that would work if I bought OE via steam or some other key site?

Cheers

Well as I say i got my Op Arrowhead from Gamersgate and you install that into Arma's directory so both games are in the same folder then use Dayz commander to launch the game.

Ah right ok, i'll give that a go. Does it make a difference if buy OA as a download or physical disk because steam installs everything in its own directory?

Thanks again, Pooley.

[Edit] In my infinite noobness i failed to realise that OE is a standalone title and doesn't need Arma2, its dayZ that needs them both :/
