Hello all. I'm into coffee and things associated with coffee!
A few weeks ago my best friend died, but before he passed away he very kindly turned me up a correctly sized coffee tamping base out of stainless steel. It is currently on a very shonky, ugly, with filler in it wooden handle and I was hoping to get something made that looks a little bit better and compliments the metal part well (nicer wood, no filler, that kind of thing). There's a few pics below to show the rough shape etc and I can of course give accurate dimensions. It's not overly complicated I would guess, hardest part would probably be the end cap.
So, does anyone dabble in wood turning and fancy having a bash? I use the tamper every day and would like it looking 100%. If it's something you can do and have some nice ideas about wood types and finishes etc maybe drop me a message to discuss pricing etc. I'm hoping someone here has the skills to make a nice handle to finish off the piece.
The widest part at the top is ~42mm narrowest ~25mm and about 75mm in total length. As shown in the pics a fixing hole will need to be drilled through the whole thing and I'd like the end cap to stay. The machine it sits on is brushed stainless steel
Many thanks
