Any WW1 or WW2 flight sims that allow you to co-op PvE? ie: A group of you against AI/NPCs?

I'm trying to find if there's any WW1 or (even better) WW2 fligth sims that would allow a group of us to fly missions against the game?

Any suggestions!?

Nothing springs to mind I'm afraid, but War Thunder does allow squads of up to 4 people to join the same battle, although it doesn't have a decent PvE system.

Not sure if any of the other mission types in the game allow for PvE in squads, I've never looked into it.

CLOD multiplayer? Join the same server. You might well get hopped by other players though - perhaps start your own server? I dont know whether you can get the AI to fly as enemy easily.

IL2 Sturmovik most certainly does this, spent many hours playing coop missions with squad mates.

Cool!

Couple of questions please...
- What IL2 are we talking about?
- Are the missions fairly interesting?
- Can you get upto 6 of you playing (PvE)?
- I assume you need to download, setup and run your own server?

IL2 Sturmovik 1946, unsure how Cliffs of Dover works for Coop as I've never played it that way.

Missions vary obviously, there are hundreds available though.

6 and more :)

If I recall correctly you host from the game and give people IP address to connect to, or use Hyperlobby (http://hyperfighter.sk/) to find/host Coop games and connect from there.

I think you can do missions and user missions as part of a squad, quite a few PvE scenarios afaik ?

So:-
- We wouldn't need to create a dedicated server? (ie: Download the server client & install it on a box)
- One of us would simply run IL2 Sturmovik 1946 and host a game?
- The rest of us would join onto his game?
- And if we used Hyperlobby, we'd all run that to simply join/co-op more easily?

That sounds really cool. Always wanted to try that and never had enough mates interested in Flight Sims to make it viable.
More recently, started with DCS, but that's mainly solo and right now I'm focusing on learning to fly a Huey. Unfortunately, whilst DCS does have a few WW2 planes, it doesn't really support the kind of missions you mention.

If you get IL2 up and running and want along a (not particularly great) pilot, let me know.

Il2 1946 and il2 cliffs of Dover can be hosted from the game and your friends connect through ip. As does rise of flight (ww1).

Rise of flight is free for the Base game and some free planes, and is wonderful.

Thanks...

So Hyperlobby adds what to organising/doing a co-op game then?

And of the two (IL2 1946 and IL2 Cod) which do you recon is better for a group of 5-6 medium serious folks to do co-op missions in? Indeed is Rise Of Flight worth considering on this front too?

Thanks...
