I think it owuld be a good experiance. But is it worth the £400 (train, hotel and entrance), thinking of *** belgium grandprix for roughly the above price.

So if anyone has been is it worth it, whats it like ect?

Seing as the cars would just go zooom zoom zoooooom past you..

Been to silverstone a few times just for raceday and really enjoyed it (even the year the mud nearly closed the lid on silverstone as a race venue). Can't comment on foreign legs however.

Never been but I bet it would be awesome! :D

Only found out a little while ago that my God-Mothers husband works on an F1 team as part of the pit crew - I intend to find out which one and try to score some tickets! :D

Done a weekend in Belgium and a week in Italy before. It's expensive as holidays go but if you're an F1 fan you've got to go to a race every now and again and I'd rather spend my money on a break like that than going to Silverstone.

Belgian GP is off this year though so you might want to rethink your plans.

I went to Spa last year with Page and Moy, and have been to Le Mans with them as well :) I don't know a lot about the process as my dad organised it all, but we never had any problems! Everyone should go to Le Mans though... Look into that if you haven't been.

I haven't been to a race abroad (almost went to Belgium GP when over there on holiday, but was too expensive), but I did go to the Silverstone friday practice session (in 2000 I think - the wet year - Flibster may correct the year :p).

The cars sounded... ...make sure you take a spare set of underwear :D

Doh' I rember now, Holiday companys got belgium listed not sure I should trust them then. How about turkey, tahts kind of random..

Anyone now where to get packaged holidays from?

http://fp.web2move.plus.com/f1-holidays.htm - I was looking there, but they can't even get the time table right.

Page and Moy are recognised as THE people for these kind of holidays. I went with them on both of my trips

ta, have to wait there websites borked.. LOL. have the pages just return errors.

http://www.motorracinginternational.uk.com/ are pretty good as well.

I organise all my F1 trips myself *not doing any this year...spending the whole year talking to you guys...Awwwww...*

Next year however... ;)

Although I'd prefer to organise it myself and then spend a fewdays going round the local area as I've done most of the tracks through work and I kinda like exploring the area which I couldn't do through work. :(

I went to Melbourne a few years ago (well 99' to be precise) and I loved it. Mind you, I was right into my F1 back then and the sights of the cars, the sounds and the general atmosphere just made it a great holiday for me. Nowadays I don't even bother watching it on the telly :( If you're into your racing then you should go as you'll realise that it is nothing compared to what you see on the box ;)

With the popularity of low cost airlines I'd say this is something you are better off organising yourself. If you book as soon as the fares become available (usually around 10 months in advance) then you can get flights VERY cheap. My midsummer flights to Bergamo (which is about a 9€ coach ride from Monza) were £15 each way including taxes. This leaves all the rest of your money for hotels (go as fancy or cheap as you like), transport to and from the airport/hotel/circuit and race tickets.

When I went to Silverstone as a kid I used Page & Moy because I couldn't drive. All went well :)

Booked a nascar trip for this summer :D , been silverstone before and really enjoyed it. Wouldent want to go every year though

ooooh i was thinking of sending my f1 nut of a brother to see the bahrain gp next year along with his missus as a gift, but 1069 a person, plus race tickets is rather pricey!

Yeh!

Did Turkey 05' and Barcelona 04' great holidays in their own rights with F1 making them better. It doesnt matter if the race is uneventful the atmosphere makes up for it :p :p

Last season the wife and I went to the San Marino GP in Imola. We had been in Imola before when on holiday in Italy and felt comfortable doing it all ourselves. We flew to London and then onto Forli. Got a great hotel in Forli (20 miles south-east of Imola) and hired a car - had tickets for all three days and seats in the stand just opposite the pit entry - you could see the whole approach to the final cichane and the whole start-finish straight and pit-lane - excellent spot. The friday and saturday are great for having a good look around the circuit, seeing other places you might consider in future. We would go back to that race given the chance. Tickets were about £380 each for the 3 days, the stand tickets for raceday being the dear bit.

Then with the advent of the A1GP series we decided to combine a short break in Berlin with the second race in the A1 calender at the EuroSpeedway in Lausitz, an hours drive south-west of Berlin. Stayed in the Radisson in the East of the city near to AlexanderPlatz and hired a car for the one day to go to the race. Race tickets and Paddock passes were dirt cheap compared to F1 and we had a great day - got autographs from a few drivers. Photos of all the cars in the garages etc. Would recommend it to anyone. In fact it is more exciting than F1 most of the time.

So both we organised ourselves, simple reason, you get to do what you want, no coaches here there and everywhere and it was cheaper!

We will go to another F1 race, maybe this year, but sometime soon. The noise is the most impressive thing; at Imola it was the Jordans, whatever harmonic they hit with their engines on the start finish straight made your chest pulse in and out! Way cool!
