Any1 still playing Age of Conan

I must say i really really enjoyed playing that game, I have sum rather fond memories of it! To me that was the exact type of MMO i like to play, i don’t like all this WoW rubbish, i know its a massive game and i'm not knocking it, the dev's really work hard on it.... But to me and as another post pointed out the GFX are out dated and the game play is a little to pixy fairies and girly to me.

Now Conan was outstanding, real blood and gore with outstanding GFX and great game play, i was lucky enough and missed out most of the bugs, however my guild disbanded and i couldn't bring my self to play it anymore!

Has anything changed for the better and are the servers still populated?

The blood and gore I liked, the GFX I liked, the gameplay was ok, but what I couldnt bear about it was the instancing and restrictive aspects of the gameworld. Just not open enough of an MMO for my MMO tastes.

I hear that its come along in its development now and some of those who liked it have returned to play it again. I fear though, like Vanguard, the early damage has already been done and its unlikely to ever get much of a foothold in the market again in terms of size. As I say though, I read that a few people have returned, so maybe its worth you reactivating for a month to see how you find it now.

Yeah i might just do it! however with BC2 coming out i cant see me ever going back! Just this game rates as one of best ever!

Never know BC2 might be a complete flop and i'l go back..... But after playing BETA cant see that happening!

I had a choice of buying this or LOTRO, but because of the rumour's regarding bugs, i decided to go for LOTRO. It's a shame really, because it looks brilliant and the mounts you could have were also a nice addition.

It really was outstanding this game had the potential to absolutly clean up the MMO market! Such a shame its been tainted! the mounts were amazing!

I tried it again recently after buying it on release... I really loved it on release, but I found when I went back, all of the niggles that I had over looked due to it being a new game where still there, and I was unable to enjoy it again.

One of these niggles is standing around for ages trying to find enough people to do certain quests with.

Nice graphics though, and as above good mounts (like the war mammoth)
