Hi

Booked flights for Budapest in May. Has anybody been and if so - what is there to do there? I don't drink alcohol at all (but my gf does) so options for a drunken strip show are a little limited.

Also, anybody got any ideas for accommodation? We both are not too keen on expensive accommodation, but there appears to be some reasonable hostels with private doubles. They must have breakfast otherwise I will lose my manhood :(

Thanks for any help

:)

Cant help with any of your questions really, but i went last september on student gumball through europe for one night. Was a beautiful city, one of the best looking i've been too, quite a lot of history, so i'm sure you could just generally walk admire and look in museums.

There are loads of bars/clubs, throughout budapest, so plenty to do in the evening, and there is the danube which im sure you could get some sort of river cruise on.

But you won't be disappointed.

I am not bieng rude or anything, but why did you book flights to somewhere you know nothing about and then ask about it, surely the logical thing will seem to ask about it first, to see if it interests you and then book it?

I went to Budapest but I didnt see much spent all day looked in a hotel for a technology day with my company, such hilarious fun.

You can go on a day trip to Vienna on the twin city liner, you would have to make sure you get some times and maybe book, you dont want to be stuck around without a place to stay.

It is my gf's idea to go (we take turns in picking somewhere we have always wanted to go). From what I have seen from the web there is some fine architecture.

While I appreciate your possible exasperation with somebody asking a question, away from the tourist sites there are often some little gems to be had. This is why I am asking.

Thanks for those who have replied.

Its pretty good to look at, building etc, and the statue park is cool. But on the whole I hated it there tbh, the food was awful and bland, and there was little in the way of things to do. :(
