...I think I have a tool fetish - lol

I like buying good quality tools and feel proud of my collection.

...and it really upsets me when my dad mis-places them or when mates borrow them and don't give them back!

Your not the only one Virdi, Im the same and can't obide t when mates etc borrow them and dont return them for months on end or they even coe back damaged a few times and they have point blank denied it saying they recieved them like it, Ill tell you they don't get to borrow them anymore...

I like good tools, got a few snapons and stuff but a lot of my collection are halfrauds ones.
Ebay is awesome for second hand snapon stuff, only spent a couiple of hundred.
Got a torque wrench, a decent socket set, a screwdriver set and some allen keys. for about ~£210, bargains.

halfords = 12 sided sockets = waste of my time

i love my tools, people keep asking me what i want for xmas, its mostly tools. tool fetishes are OK tbh

Yeah i like tools got a fair old collection now mostly Halfords Professional.

Halfords Professional torque wrench (40Nm - 150Nm)
Halfords Professional torque wrench (8Nm - 60Nm)
Halfords Professional 100pcs 1/2" drive socket set
Halfords Professional 66 pcs 3/8 & 1/4" drive socket set
Draper Spanners 8 -19mm

What i really need is a decent set of screwdrivers next

All the deep sockets are 6 sided, and all the 1/4" stuff is 6 sided.

Plus you can buy the impact sockets on a rail which are all short and 6 sided, so that just about covers it all :)

Buy cheap = buy twice.

Been caught out with that a lot of times so I tend to only buy good tools now. Plus I do a lot more spannering than I used to and I like to be able to rely on my tools to do the job.

i have sufficient tools to rebuild motorbikes from a bare frame and strip/rebuild cars from bare shells. never had to replace any tools and most of them are halfords professional and have been the last 10 years.

I think the japanese KOKEN tools are the best , supreme extra high quality

I'm a sucker for high quality tools. I mainly have expensive toolmaker's equipment at work, although most of it is old/good as new used. I often prefer old stuff to the new stuff because it's been used and abused for decades and hasn't broken yet.

My favourite is a 1/2" dr. 'one-way' rachet handle which reverses the action of the rachet by means of pushing the drive square through the head of the racheting section. It's about 50 years old, and was given to me by my grandad. It also doubles up as an effective basher-inner. :D

I'm a sucker for tools too. :D

At the MPH & Classic show at the NEC a couple of years ago there was a tool market thing going on, spent ages drooling and wandering around it, t'was equally as pleasant as the car show! :D

I'm always designing my ideal garage/workshop and tool set in my head (as sad as it may be :p). One day! :D

Is that picture meant to show the quality of the design? Maybe something has been lost in the excessive compression, but AFAICT the Koken sockets main features are that it's less deep and has more stress raising changes in section than the "other" socket.
