Anybody experienced high CPU when downloading at high Speed?

Hi all,

I have recently switched to FTTC (Plusnet) and have noticed that when I am downloading at high speed (8000 KB/s) my CPU usage actually jumps up to 40-50%.

...is this normal?

There's a very easy way to test.

It's extremely unlikely that you need 50 though.

No. If I recall correctly, your connection is up to 80Mb/s so 5 threads should be more than enough to max it out.
