Anybody going to get 360 Elite when we get the Hi Def marketplace stuff.

well and HD movie clocks in at around 9Gb i think, so you really need the larger Hard drive of the Elite if you're going to use it seriously.

Depends how you define 'serious'.

You could still easily get the same use and functionality if you have the 20GB drive, compared to someone with a 120GB drive. As long as HD stuff doesn't go above 10GB+, and you delete the content once you've viewed it, then you would be able to download anything, and still keep some demos & other content on the HDD at the same time.

TBH even with 120GB, I would still probably just delete something once I had watched it, so it kinda makes the extra space irrelevant. You certainly don't need the Elite to make good use of the HD content.

That's what's slightly worrying me in my purchase in the elite. I don't want them bringing out another SKU which can do IPTV and the rest can't. I'm not clued up on IPTV. I don't know how fast broadband you need. But I just want something like Joost.

Over at Tina Woods blog there was a interview with one of the guys from MS and they were showing off IPTV and they talked about it. I cant find the damn video because of their crappy search
The only reason that Im currently aware of that will cause me to buy another 360 is IPTV, so I think Ill wait for that to appear and then see what versions are available.

Reckon I'll stick with my premium and maybe try and bag the 120gb HD for a reasonable price... (Unlikely)
Wish you could just throw stuff onto an external HD that you've downloaded, would make things much easier!

Recent reports are that the CPU is only getting the 65nm not the GPU which is still seen as the Ring Of Death culprit. The reason for the 65nm tech is its cheaper to manufacturer more than it is as a solution for overheating.
There are a also reports that both the cpu and gpu are getting 65nm.

So are the IPTV 360s only going to be available for users of BT broadband? Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

According to the quote further up the page it looks that way :( Not good news at all. They may have a decent amount of content, but that means people ditching their 20Mbps cable connections to switch to <8Mbps BT ADSL to be able to access it

Hopefully it won't all be via BT or Microsoft have lost out on a huge chunk of users...but at the same time BT aren't going to really care too much as they would have gained a load.

dont they only stay on the console for 2 weeks or something like that? it wouldnt be much of an issue then....

well as far as i know you can 'rent' stuff which is a timed download. You'll be able to watch it for up to a week i think. Theres also stuff that you can download permenantly though.

SIMPLE ANSWER = NO

simply not worth it, Live is generally too slow and i have other sources available plus it probably be a BT only thing and there is no way i'm going to BT from Virgin Media BB

well its prob best just to throw a 120gig HD in a premium than buy another console. Hopefully the price of them will go to a reasonable amount.
