Anybody here got a Fasthosts account or similar - help needed

Ask your host's support - oh, it's Fasthosts....:D

(But seriously, a) what are your problems and b) try asking them :))

More than likely it's a rogue firewall your side, or your publisher software going crazy - try restarting :D

fasthosts are replying in world record time but I'm getting nowhere.

You have to enable frontpage extensions and ASP which I have done.
You have to PUBLISH WEB from inside Frontpage and you have to get your files into a htdocs directory but I can't get files into it. I get error messages saying it doesn't exist even though I can see it. If I go on another FTP program I can make directories, drag into them, download from them but I can't get anything into this htdocs directory and I need to, to get it all to work.
I've been used to putting my index.htm file onto the root directory of my webspace but as I said it needs to go into the htdocs directory.

I'm using fasthosts (business) for a site of mine. Not had a problem. I use IE to FTP as well!

Can you do a screen grab of the structure inside your htdocs directory so I can see what I should be seeing?

This is mine -
The one on the left is the root directory and the one on the right is inside the htdocs directory

I don't think I've got permissions setup for that directory.

I've just used IE to try and drag a file into it and get an error message.
If you look at my picture I can drag a file into any of those folders on the left except the htdocs directory.
I presume that you can drag and drop a file into the htdocs so that must mean I haven't got permissions from their end.

It looks like it my be thier end!

I'll check tomorrow to double check. Needing to set permissions for htdocs seems silly.

MSN me tomorrow (in trust). And i'll check the settings. So you know if you can phone fast hosts and shout profanity or not ;)

fasthosts folder structure should look like this

htdocs
logfiles
private

from what i can remember if you upload anything else into the main root folder you get file permision problems for the rest of you natural life or until fasthosts decide to fix it

think youve got an extra folder called images which is creating the problem, just make sure you only upload into the htdocs or private folders
