Thinking about planting some of this, two birds kind of deal for the bees and cats. Every video I see basically says don't do what the other video said and im just sitting here confused lol.
Oh hell no!! That would lead to far too much chaos here as there are at least 15 cats in our immediate area. We have three, next door has two, next door to her has three, out the front another neighbour has two, across from us they have at least two and then there are "visitors" that regularly come around. Imagine fifteen cats all going around high on catnip!!

I've seen a few of these "capnip" pictures
The common thing is always not what is claimed, but clearly hot countries, and the cats are always in the shade
I have a trough planter full of it, it's self seeded from previous years and is thriving.
I'd give it a good head start to get established as some leaves will get chewed off by your cat, if it's young it won't be able to survive losing a few leaves. I kept mine in a grow house before bringing into the garden.
My cat likes it, but doesn't go "catnip crazy" for it, like she does with catnip toys.
There's other cats in the neighbourhood and they pay attention when passing through, but I chase them as they scent mark.
Plus my cat chases them too as obviously they're territorial creatures. So they know my garden is a hostile zone and tend to stay clear.
