I've been with them for around 4 years but does anybody know if I can setup a directory on my webspace that I can allow people to FTP to and from and not anywhere else?

I'm with them, but I'm not aware of that functionality. I do have upload functionality on my web site, purely because I use Joomla CMS and can log into the back end and use the Media Manager.

Depending on which server package you have, you will have FTP or ssh access, but making it available to others, a specific directory, sounds like something that you would have to configure server side on their ftp server configuration. Give them a call I would.

The handful of windows hosting accounts I have with them allow you to specify different FTP users and grant them home directories, no idea if this applies to their *nix hosting though.

Gah well, I used to be able to connect to joomla, something went screwy and now I can't get admin access :S

yeah.. surely just set new FTP users and set the directory they see when they log in i.e. the director you want

Apologies for not replying but none of these came up in my email.

Yes it can be done as said above.
You can set different FTP accounts which means I have now given several people their own directories and their own version of FileZilla.
Works a treat.
