Wife has conplained of some knocking from the frint drivers side, so i've jacked it up and replaced the droplinks (the only bit i hadn't changed yet!) and found a slight gap on the ARBs, checked both sides and they both looked like this...

BUT on the drivers side (after checking how the ARB is clamped down) i noticed this...

see the big hole where something should be holding something tight? The bit that's missing!

I tried to push a bolt up from below but there was nothing to bite into, so i'm wondering if it's supposed to be a captive bolt from up top? Can i drop the engine frame and put something else in place? Or is it part of the ARB clamp?

Cheers

Try refreshing, imageshack is being a bit ginger beer, server img180 is being slow to load stuff, took a minute to load up on my hosting page.

Reupped the pics.

Most bushes look like snot after a couple of years, i just need to be able to clamp it down then i can tell if they're worn or if they're still tight.

Its a nut and bolt job on the ARB clamps, you will need to drop the subframe a touch to do it.Bloody crappy job it is too.

Never forget to include the "inept clown" factor in car repairs. On one side there is the nut/bolt but the other slots inside the subframe, there's no nut and bolt.

Of course, if you don't put the tab in the slot, things tend to flap around quite a bit ...

This is what happens when you are too stoned (legally!) to do the job yourself and need to get the wife to help.
