This number just rang me on my mobile. I picked up and waited (as it was a call center) some one picked up and then put me on hold again so i hung up

Just as a question does anyone recognise this number?

Just put the phone down or dont answer it in the first place, i told the dude
who i spoke to, to take me off the list and they havent called back since

Even so, you would have to call the number yourself. I cannot see any possible way that you could be billed for receiving an incoming call.

I think with the incoming calls scam you had to press a series of numbers before you could be billed. It isn't possible to be billed for just receiving a call.

Indeed.
Somebody could leave you a recorded message asking you to press a key combination that would call a number back.
Or you could be scammed into calling a number.
You could then be charged up to £1.50 per minute (the maximum rate) to call said number.
You can be charged for receiving text messages but I know of no way you can be charged for receiving a phone call without the need to do something on the handset and in effect "call them back".

not this exact number but a similar call a few weeks ago and basically they hang up as you answer in the hope that you will call them back at a high call rate.
