Hi guys,

Been eyeing this game up for a while but I've heard mix reviews; is it any good?

Also, which version to buy? The complete pack off steam?

Thanks

Its a relatively fun game until you get accidentally team damaged or team killed.
Which is always.

They occasionally do free weekends and price reductions on steam

I wouldn't waste your money, it's pretty much a spinning simulator, an exploit of the game engine by ramping up your mouse sensitivity, which makes it near impossible to block .

Mordhau is shaping up well and will hopefully be released this year.

The game has its flaws but there's not much out there like it and it's definitely worth it, particularly now that a Steam sale is happening soon. You won't meet many people who abuse the engine in the first 20-30 hours of playing the game which will give you ample time to have fun trying out each class and learning their strengths and weaknesses.

Don't bother with the expansion, it's less polished than the base game which also has many more active players.

I used to play it a fair amount so I think it's pretty decent. It is repetitive but combat feels meaty and satisfying.

I recommend just getting medieval warfare. The other one is alright but lacks the objective-based maps that makes medieval warfare so fun. If you're not entirely sure then maybe just wait for a free weekend as they're pretty common.

Chivalry was great fun to play and I put *a lot* of hours into it but yes, as EVH says when you get put up against experienced players the mechanics turn to absolute garbage as everyone competes using dumb exploitative maneuvers that defy physics and positions not even a contortionist could pull off.

Unfortunately that is true and does spoil it a bit. Nonetheless there's quite a few hours of fun to be had in the low rank servers where presumably people aren't up to that stuff so much.

I occasionally play Chivalry, its hilarious, everyone just running about swinging wildly. Expect lots of tk'ing and general stupidity. As long as you take it for what it is, (a fairly simple bit of fun) you should enjoy it.

I was a great game of which I had racked up some 1200 hours, the zero g server was hilarious, but like I said the exploit just ruined it it for me and hopefully some much better games around the corner like Mordhau and For Honor :).

Not everyone ;)

Good timing, awareness of weapon ranges and decent parry ability beats any ballerina contortionist vanguard
