Anybody up for encoding an AVI experiment?

Download this file - http://www.disturbinthepeace.co.uk/video/rockroll.avi (5 meg) and then using your favourite DVD Creation program see how long it takes to convert it.
Post your processor and times (perhaps even your memory).

I have a P4 3.6
WINAVI = 42 secs
VSOConvertXtoDVD = 1 min 14 secs

What am I converting it to?

DVD (a very small one).

thing is who converts such a small file

Its all relative whether its 5 meg or 700 meg.
I usually convert 700 meg files but I can't host such a file and nobody would download it.

Ati Avivo Encoder

I'm having trouble trying to install this.
I've downloaded the Encoder and installed ATI Multimedia Centre but nothing seems to be working.
Any help appreciated.

you need to all use the same software same version and same OS otherwise its a pointless benchmark.

Not really.
I'm forming quite an opinion from these results so far.
Basically upgrading from my P4 3.6 isn't going to give significant results.
