Anybody use talktalk and xbox live?

Just wondering if you're getting these random disconnects everybody is suffering? I'm getting them every 30 mins or so and it's very annoying:mad:
 
I'm on Talktalk and I seem to be having issues with Xbox live right now.

Do you get issues where it wont allow you to sign into your gamertag and if it does, it takes longer than usual? and when you eject a game to get back to the dashboard the screen will just stay black?

I've had some real issues with getting games in COD as of late aswell, maybe it's talktalks issue?

Those are the issues people are reporting.
Takes ages to sign in,takes ages to load games,get disconnected from xbox live randomly. I get the black screen thing as well. Tonight I had 2 messages saying the COD servers were unavailable even though my friend were still playing.
There are loads of posts about it on the talktalk and xbox forums.

Yep exactly the same as me then. I thought it might have been my Xbox slim messing up but if lots of other people are reporting the issues aswell it has to be an ISP issue surely.

Any official response from talktalk on the forums yet mate? I know they can be quite helpful on there sometimes.
 
Setting MTU to 1500 can help with the disconnects according to some one on the talktalk forums. I've just changed mine and I'll see if it makes a difference.

What does MTU @ 1500 actually do?
 
Few ISP's support an MTU of 1500 it's likely to make things worse increasing your packet count.
 
I tried this:
The other thing I did that possibly made a difference was deleted the last update and reinstalled it, to do this go to system settings, memory, then hit the following: LB RB X LB RB X, after you delete it your xbox will restart and says theres an xbox live update, don't expect immediate changes though, mine stayed the same up until a hour or so after I did it, may be a coinsidense

which I got from the xbox forums and I haven't had a single disconnect all night. It's been a proper pwning night with all the noobs on Black Ops:D
 
I'm getting the same thing on o2. It's a pig. I'll try that update thing and see if that helps. The other thing people have mentioned is to do with allowing ICMP packets, but the bloody o2 router doesn't have a setting for that!
 
To sort the problem out I manually changed my DNS settings to this
TalkTalk DNS:
Primary: 62.24.199.13
Secondary: 62.24.199.23

I restored to factory settings and then did that thing to delete the previous update.
I haven't had any problems since.
