Anybody want a broken toe

Reminds me of the time I dislocated a finger trying to save a penalty in the snow. Was pointing at 90 degrees to where it normally goes! *shudders*

Still got the fat knuckle to remind me of it - think I maybe broke it rather than just dislocated it. Probably should have gone to the hospital to get it checked out, but I just popped it back into place before I had time to think about it. Then started to feel a bit faint, as I could 'wobble' it around in the joint, so decided I best tape it up to the finger next to it for a bit of stability.

I would have gone for the anaesthetic. A few years ago I ripped a gash out of my finger in a beer drinking accident and it needed stitching up. They came at me with a needle so I said, "Er, where does that go?" The nurse said "One in that soft fleshy area between your thumb and fore finger, and one between your first two fingers." Eek.

"Will that hurt?" I asked. "Er, yes I'm afraid it will" came the reply. "Will it hurt more than not having the anaesthetic at all?" I asked. "Oh no, no way."

She was right. The needles hurt. And the sewing up job hurt like hell even with the jabs. They suggested I tell them a bit about myself to take my mind off it, so I told the story about the time our pet dog got set on fire after my little brother made some toast. The guy sewing me up was laughing so hard he couldn't sew straight.

They asked if I wanted an anaesthetic before they reset it but said that often this is more painful than the resetting procedure as they have to inject twice oin the skin between the toes

Had this when I went to have the side of my toenail removed (ingrown).

It doesn't really hurt, quite cool actually as you can feel the 2" long needle slide right into your foot. :p

Just to make you feel better, I once tore all the ligaments on my left foot, (should have broken it, would have been less painful).

After 8 weeks on crutches and continuing to commute to work I was on the last day when I slipped on a pool of water at Liverpool street Station and broke my finger.:(

What is torn ligaments??

I think i had it once when playing football. I swung and kicked the ball away and a player just ran straight into my leg. It twisted badly and i couldnt walk on it for the day. The next day there was huge bruising and there was huge pain. I could feel my knee was really wobbly and loose, but i just started to walk on it. By the next saturday i was running and could kick the ball though i did have to take tablets due to the pain.

Is that a torn ligament or just a badly placed knock???

my brother was with me and was highly sympathetic especially when asking the doc if he could film it on his mobile

just to finish it all off nicely my brother tipped me out of the wheelchair while trying to get up a pavement into the car park

all say "poor Rotty" :p

ROFL:p, i feel your pain...well not really but get well soon bud:D

trust me if you tore ligaments you would have been in immense pain, and out of action for weeks. depending on how many you tore of course. last year i sprained my ankle and tore 3 ligaments at the same time whilst playing football. funny thing is there was no1 within 5 yards of me. i jumped up and hit a volley (sorest goal i have ever scored :(), and didn't bring my left leg up, resulting in my left foot (pointing down at the time) catching the ground, and going backwards, with a loud popping noise, and a hell of a lot of pain. didn't play again play for over 2 months :(

oh yea and get well soon rotty :p

Ouch!!

The missus slipped in a bath in a hotel last year and stubbed her ickle toe on the tap and cracked it.. When they reset it in A&E and bandaged it, she screamed the place down.

Hope it gets better soon :)
