Hi,
I just joined Be from AOL. I connected 2 PCs to the Bebox via ethanet cables and I also disabled the wireless networking on the Bebox. On the devices section of the home networking menu of the Bebox there is an "unkown" device (as well as the 2 PCs) which I can delete but it comes back if I turn the Bebox off then on again. Could it be detecting the thing i've got to send sky tv to a television upstairs?

Also, I did a port scan at "shields Up" and it said that ports 21 and 23 (and another 1 I cant remember) were open (same ports on both PCs). When I was with AOL all the ports were in stealth mode, so how do I do this on the Bebox? Or is it just the site and im worrying for nothing?
Thanks

Port 21 = FTP
Port 23 = Telnet
Port 443 = HTTPS

It sounds like the Bebox has remote management ports open and there probably isn't much you can do about it.

I didn't say that, I said that I thought the Bebox had management ports open. I would assume (if I'm right) that the management of the Bebox is password protected.

ok this is what you do
open telnet type 192.168.1.254

or
start --run in the run box type telnet 192.168.1.254
putin your username and password
then type this
service system ifdelete name=FTP group=wan
service system ifdelete name=TELNET group=wan

"unkown" device is your gateway no need to worry.

that will be 80 pounds plz
