Just wondered if anyone had any info on a career as a draughtsperson or CAD technician.

I have seen a vacancy for a trainee draughtsperson and it seems quite an interesting thing to get into but im not sure about the working conditions and career prospects.

So just wondering if anyone of you guys had any experience or advice.

Cheers guys.

I work with CAD monk.. I mean technicians every day as a structural engineer. Get in with a reputable company and you'll have a very rewarding career and excellent working conditions. They'll pay for all your training and you can work your way up to CAD/management level in time. It can also be vaired depending which industry you go in. In construction at the moment, I'd say you would struggle to get a job as there's a general slowdown in building work and employers are not recruiting unless they have projects abroad (but drawn here).
