Anyone actually receieved donations on their site?

For those that ask for donations for the free content they provide...anyone had any donations...?

...if so, how much? (if you don't mind answering).

Me so far: £25. There has been a donations section on my site for ~1/1.5 month(s).

I used to maintain my own personal blog giving free access to leveling guides I wrote for various games such as Guild Wars and WoW. I'm currently in the process of setting this up again, but I used to have a donations box asking to help pay for hosting and would recieve perhaps a few quid from generous donaters.

Over the year it was running as I had to upgrade the hosting for bandwidth reasons, I made around £250 for the upkeep of the website in donations.

I am an administrator on a tech support forum, and we regularly receive donations of about $200 a month.

on here once i put my paypal address in as a joke when the guy said "can't thank you enough" someone sent me £1, the guy said it wasn't him, lol

I got some on my birdcam site when I ran it earlier this year. Worked out at about £9 in all and went towards my hosting renewal

I've never tried.

I run a reasonably busy community-based site/forum, and I've been tempted to add a donations button, but I'm also proud of the fact that we have no advertisements and I've never asked anyone for money.

I think this is much more important than the pittance I'll receive by adding a begging button.
