Hi all,

We didn't bother going to practice today, instead enjoyed some local areas.

I've just read somewhere that there is a NO BEER policy this weekend??? Is this true!? Anyone been there todAy that can confirm??

I haven't got Twitter. Can't find anything else about it!

There was no beer allowed yesterday but I figured that was because it was the pit walk!

Oh God, that would mean you have to drink that Jupiler crap they sell in the track!

This is the first year since 2007 that nobody from my immediate family are at Spa. Feels really odd to not be texting someone there, or being text while there giving weather updates :(

Well according to what I read they are only selling alcohol free beer as well :/

Weather here is freaking awesome!! *toucheswood

What the hell? That is going to cause more problems than it solves, surely.

Had they tried to turn me away at the gate with my cooler full of Leffe, or worse still confiscate it, they would have had a blockade until they refunded my ticket, travel and accommodation.

That's what I'm worried about! I don't want to turn up with a cooler full, well two actually as there's 7 of us! Just to be turned away!

There's been nothing on the tickets or emailed out saying anything

Wow, Googling suggests Spain was the same.

I wonder if this if F1 trying to beat the threat from the EU about banning alcohol advertising? Seems utterly stupid, I'd genuinely think twice about going to a race if o couldn't have a beer.

At Spain they confiscated screw tops from bottles too! Crazy!

That's my thought! I won't come back if I can't have a few beers in the sunshine!! It'll cost them millions in sales I'm sure! They just seem to be out to ruining the spectator numbers

Spa is hardly in a convenient spot either. People will be turning up after making long trips only to be faced with leaving their beer outside or not going in at all.

God I'm actually glad I'm not there, I'd be furious.

I'll report back tomorrow! There's nothing at all on the tickets or anything. Surely they can't just change it without notifying people? Especially if you go back year after year

On the Thursday track inspection/pitlane walk they searched all bags for food and drink which were removed, but Friday-Sunday we had no issues taking in whatever we wanted. Only had the bag patted down once no idea what for as they didn't look inside.
