hey guys, i am hopefully going to uni next year, and i live in scotland so might aswell take advantage of the free education system, now i want to go study physics but dont know where to go, i was thinking either edinburgh or st andrews but im not sure if they are the best for physics?

Dont go to uni just because its free and you can, only go if you actually want to learn or else after first year you will be dying to get out.

What type of physics do you want to do? St. Andrews has a good optics and light physics related departments, but less than a third of the students are Scottish and its a small town with not much to do.

Just go to all the open days you can and get a feel for the place, the staff, learn more about the courses on offer etc.

I am going into my final year of Physics at Edinburgh Uni, I would say Edinburgh and St Andrews are probably the best Scottish Uni's for Physics, but as the previous guy said, don't just do it because you get your tuition fees paid for you. Physics is a very demanding course, especially in later years as I am finding out :)

Any questions just let me know.
