I was just wondering what mountain biking in France is like? What kind of access to the countryside is there? Here we have bridleways, what is the French equivalent? Thanks.
My mate in work goes every single year, he goes to a resort in/near the alps as there are a number of places that have actual off road mountain bike downhill tracks around there. If that's what your after? I think they use the ski lifts to get to the top at some of them, and ride down like maniacs.
No idea about cycle tracks however (like national cycle network).
As above, most ski resorts cater for downhill and off-road riding in the summer. We've stayed near La Clusaz and there are plenty of trails and downhill tracks there. They seem to cater for a range of abilities.
A bit of a broad question no? No context will get you stupid responses
France has everything the UK has and more. (in many more ways than just biking I should add )
