anyone been out drinking in York ?

Me and a few mates are thinking about going drinking in York.

It just doesn't seem one of the major places to go, but on the other hand has loads of pubs.

What nights the best/busiest Friday or Saturday

Just after some opinions from those who have been?

Well i googled it and loads of stag party stuff came up so it should ok. With it having a uni, should be a bonus.. students go where the beer flows.

i suppose you cant really go wrong, apparently 300+ pubs :O

York is a crap place to go out!

If you want bars Micklegate is popular, it has loads of pubs in one street - good for a pub crawl.
Theres bars pretty much everywhere tbh, yates, varsity, The Lowther (near the Gallery) and judges lodgings (opposite varsity) are the best imo.

Clubs:
Ziggys: on micklegate its an old house and crap
Toffs: Also crap
Gallery: Okish but theres a massive queue after about 10:30
Nexus: Not really a clubs - its a bit small and free entry I think

ahh not good news, do you think its only carp cos you live there, i hate middlesbrough for drinking.

another thing all the pubs on there seem to be pubs my dad would go to are they all like that.. ? i am starting to think newcastle might be a better idea

Put it this way. All the people I know in York, go to other towns/cities for their nights out.

Used to live there myself, and although there are a lot of places, none of them are any good.
