I'm looking at sorting out my brothers stag do, I'm thinking of including maybe the Southampton branch. Looking at the ticket booking page it says "The full Jongleurs experience: eat, drink, laugh, dance. Doors open 19:00" so does that ticket price include food or not?

I'm not that fussed either way, just wondering as to what to add to the budget that's all.
I did consider one of the Jazz clubs in Reading but the Arches is closed for refurbishment :(

If anyone has been, what were their opinions of it and is it a "good" place to go?

food is chicken in a basket iirc

i think its a bit hit or miss, sometimes funny, others not - if your mullered, then its a decent night out

Went to the Soton one as part of my stag day, after curry and karting. Was a good night. Check what comedians are on the night(s) you are looking at going. Be careful though, I had a couple of people not turn up and you can only cancel the tickets up to about a week before the show, so make sure you get all the money off people first :( . It was a good night and we had a good laugh and then there is always the "gentlemans" clubs nearby. FYEO is just down the road.

Have a good time :)

EDIT: I think they have the menus on the website, food is simple basket stuff, burgers etc, but we only drank the 4 pint pitchers as we'd had all you can eat curry at Kutis (v good) which is about 10 mins away walking.

Jounglers is good for a night out, but stag do .. I wouldn't
Although saying that, there's always hen parties in there.

4pint pitcher of fosters is £10, when it turns into a night club it's expensive. £5 for a double vodka and coke. £3 for a pint.

Not for the entirety of the day/night, just form a bit of light amusement and a quick bite to eat. We are a little limited by distance and time.

Is there anywhere else to go afterwards, I'm not so sure about staying there wihen it turns into a nightclub :/

Oh, and if it does turn into a FYEO style laters should I be inviting the prospective father-in-law :p

Jongleurs is very hit and miss. It really depends on who is performing on the night.

I would say Reading has the better night-life with a better variety of clubs but i'd say Soton has more stag orientated stuff with FYEO and all. It depends what you want out of the night really.

Expensive? A pint in a pub is at least £2.50.

lol my brother stipulated - "I want beer and titties" (can I say that word?), he's a clever fellow but it's the one time he will be let off the leash ;)

For Reading, Friar street, where jongleurs/Bar Risa is, has a strip club down there too, so his wish may come true :P

Not sure if "The Honeypot" closed down though, havent been around there for 3 years, cant stand Reading, even though i live here!

I went to Jongleurs in Reading on a Thursday night as was down there for business. I'm 25 and was by far the oldest person in there, some hot girls, not the sort you'd take home to your mum but it's not that sort of place. To be honest I wouldn't recommend it for a stag though, go somewhere a bit nicer. Roadhouse in Covent Garden would get my vote.

Did paintball + jongleurs for my stag. Was awesome. I think ministry of paintball do a deal for both, might be worth checking out.

Really enjoyed myself, highly recommended.

Are thursdays student nights at Risa? When I go there it's normally on a thursday. Not that I go there regularly, prefer places without dress codes.
