Anyone in here been to anywhere in Arizona ?

Due to fly off for 7 days of a work course next week ( to Pheonix ) - but there doesn't seem to be much there - and the places/sites that are interesting might be too far a drive when I finish work at 5pm every day

I've been several times - my company used to be owned by a company based in Chandler.

Phoenix isn't the most exciting of places to say the least. Tuscon and Scottsdale are worth a visit if you've got time to kill.

There is always the Grand Canyon which is to the north of Phoenix - head up US17 towards Flagstaff then follow US180 which leads you to US64. It isn't a short drive away though, it took me about 6 hours to get there.

When you going? If its over the summer, you probably wont want to do anything outside during the day.

One of my clients is Chandler Police Department. Also going to Tempe for a conference in a couple of weeks.

The golf's good apparently.

I'm actually currently living in Phoenix, am here doing my flight training. It is getting very hot here during the day, this week its been hitting 39c. Phoenix isn't an amazing place but it does have some stuff to do, I've only been here 3 weeks myself so don't know it well myself but I can recommend a cpl of places to check out if you want.

when I went in aug last year it was well in the 30c's I think a few days it hit into the 40c's

30C and 40C is what I'd expect in Easter in Arizona. At least, thats what it was like last Easter when I went.

My uncle lives in Scottsdale and I've been to see him a couple times. Tucson is a definite place to go to, it really was worth the visit.

If you like the USAF, take a look at PIMA Air Force museum near Tucson. I definitely enjoyed the day out there.

Also if you have time, the grand canyon is up north. Its a hell of a drive but it is definitely worth it if you can spend a couple days up there.
The meteor crater is an interesting place to visit if you can, too.

If you like Western towns, you can try Tombstone - although that is an hour or so from Tucson, so a fair bit of driving.

There are a couple old mining towns near there - Bisbee is a name that springs to mind.

I can't really help you much apart from those basics. I don't know what you'd want to do, if its nice scenary or great nightlife you're after - though I know a lot more about the former than the latter :)
