Anyone bought a Benq FP241W recently?

Hi, I am trying to source one of these with the newest firmware please. Anyone bought one recently and where from? I have heard post July manufacture date has the second firmware update. I don't want to buy one and then have to send it back to Benq. Mad or what? :eek:
 
Even if people have bought one recently they can't tell you where from, this is an OcUK forum ;), I'd probably suggest emailing the website(s) you're thinking of buying it from and ask them if they have the latest firmware on.
 
I appreciate what you are saying but OcUK don't stock them. Anyway, I have emailed and telephoned other suppliers but obviously they can't go into the warehouse to read the label on the box! Benq UK weren't very hepful. Do I have to buy a Dell :eek:

no but they do stock an awful lot of stuff that competitors stock, so im afraid we cant tell you were to get them.
 
hold you're fire there, Fozzie mate. have you seen the ocuk value 24 inchers? a load of us are getting ours delivered today. dont order anything untill you see some reviews of these monitors.:)
 
took delivery of mine today....beautiful monitor.
it was the 1:1 which was stopping me from buying the monitor sooner but after months of waiting/deciding which 24" to go for, i took the plunge and went for the benq....and the 1:1 pixel mapping is fine :)
 
Well I have ordered mine today, should be here tomorrow :D

It was this or the Dell. The Dell's ghosting and a possible A01 version of the HC or even a 2408 coming out made my mind up to get the benq.

I won't ask where you got it :D It doesn't matter now, just hope mine has the firmware update.
 
got a benq fp241w a few weeks ago and 1.1 mapping works fine on it so you should be fine, all in a very impressive monitor.
 
I got one a fews back to replace a Dell 2407 A01, which contrary to popular opinion I found fault. The Benq is as good/better IMO except in the physical looks department.
 
I got mine yesterday straight from distribution and it's a March 07 monitor. Not overly impressed at this early stage, but it probably needs setting up properly.
 
Snap! I got mine today and yes, it is a March 2007 model :mad: My Xbox360 through VGA is rubbish. You set it at 1920 x 1080 and it shows in a shrinked down resolution and the monitor scales it. Apparently another firmware upgrade sorts that out but it messes up the 1:1 fix! (AFAIK)
If my PS3 through HDMI is ok though I'll be happy (need a HDMI lead)

But on a realistic note..... through DVI from my PC and Apple Mac it is fab :p
No dead pixels (I haven't looked too closely) I need a DVI KVM now.
 
:mad: Well don't know what to do. DVI-D from Mac and PC fab. I got the monitor also for HD gaming, what a disappointment. The overscan is far too much and it is on HDMI as well as Component. PS3 through HDMI at 1080p rough as a badger's. 1:1 through anything other than DVI-D is impossible.
Reading up on distance selling regs :D
