Anyone bought a Dell Studio 15 laptop?

Hi,
Thinking about buying a Dell Studio 15 laptop in a few weeks. Does anyone own one of these? are there any problems with it? Is the Dell studio 15 any good?

Will I need any more than 3072MB of memory?

Also does that laptop have an ethernet port?

At worst, if you need the extra gig, it'd probably work out cheaper to buy another 2gb stick and slot that in, then sell the 1gb stick.
 
Ordered on 26th. Still in pre-production. Need it by the 20th as I leave on the 21st and need to get all programs and documents copied from this pc.

Dells delivery times are shocking. I contacted one of their agents through their website and he told me that it can take up to 1 month for the studio 15 and 17 to be delivered after ordering.

I have just had my confirmation through and have been told the estimated date is the 22nd of Sept.

I ordered a Studio 17 from the outlet. Arrived after 8 days (inc bank holiday). Not got my hands on it yet though as my credit card is still registered to my parents address in Manchester despite the fact I now live in London. Once I've picked it up I'll be happy to answer any queries :)
 
I ordered a Studio 15 on the 30th July and was recently told my ETA had slipped to the 12th September. So the order was cancelled. Dell cannot judge demand to save their lives. The fact they still advertise the Studio laptops for back to school is hilarious.

How do you find studio's in the outlet? I can't seem to find any.
 
Its not listed as studio. It's in the inspiron range, and only listed as a model number. I'd tell you more, but I'm looking to grab one too :p

Edit: Got a high-spec XPS 1530 so I can stop being selfish now :D
- There is no Inspiron 1535 in the Inspiron range. Curious eh?

Today new systems started appearing about 3.25, and a whole pile went up about 3.35. You're allowed 5 systems in your basket, so my advice is to grab the 5 best you can quickly, and then sort through the ones you get. They only stay in your basket for 15 minutes, then they appear on the site again. You'd better have a credit card ready, because by the time you realise it's gone out of your basket someone else may have it. There also seems to be more XPS's than Studio's, so perhaps keep the filter open to the screen size and spec you want.

They're pretty popular right now - they frequently go in and out of stock. When they're sold out the option doesn't even appear in the drop down. The Studio 17's are obvious the Studio 15's are a little more cryptic (model number only) but its not difficult to figure it out (trying not to spoil WolfR1der's plan ;)).
