Hi

I'm in the market for a new car and was wondering if anyone has used/recommend some good sites - looking at buyanewcaronline.co.uk at the moment. Basically trying to avoid being ripped off.

Cheers

I'd prefer to go to a dealer if I was buying a new car and haggle with a salesman, but then again I'd never buy new. Being ripped off is the least of your worries with depreciation on new cars.

This has to be the stupidiest idea since the idea of thinking the world is flat.

Go to a dealer and beat out a price.

That website is hilarious.

Toyota Yaris Special Edition... comes up with:

"YOU SAVE, £300 OFF LIST PRICE"

OMG YES! I CANNOT ADD IT TO MY BASKET QUICKLY ENOUGH.

my old man nearly bought from broadspeed.

He filled in his details and the next day guy from the audi garage rang him up, decided to lease in the end though

I can tell you that there are definately deals to be had from online brokers. What I did instead is use their price as a goal when negotiating with the dealer.

Bought a Audi A6 3.0TDI Quattro S-Line Avant this week..... 10k off list... Now thats a discount :)

Agree with Mikeh501, get loads of quotes from on line brokers and use this as a bargaining tool

There having a laugh, I just checked a "potential purchase"....

Maybach 62 SALOON 6.0 S 4dr Auto [2006] £6,836 £338,959

£6,836 discount off a list price of £338,959? - I'll take my business elsewhere....:D:D

2006? Is that the year of the car or the year of list they are going by?

Weird site tbh.

Ten THOUSAND off list? That's over 25%! How much did you pay for it.. many options?

I bought a Audi A6 Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro Tiptronic in Daytona Grey with Comms pack 2 (Satnav/6discchgr/bluetooth), full milano leather, privacy glass, luxury pack, leccy seats, ipod interface, black style pack and BOSE :D.... 42k ist price, and I paid 32k. They even did me a great GFV and took my trade in for decent money.

I pick it up next Friday, cant wait.

For reference, I used drivethedeal and mynewcarquotes websites for ammo, and then got 3 dealers to price against each other. :D

presumably this was in stock, not made to order? pre-reg as well or properly brand spanking new?

It was an Audi UK vehicle, and unregistered. Sitting in a compound down south somewhere. The reason for the massive discount is that its a 2008 model year, and they have just brought out a 2009 model year with LED daytime running lamps... I figured I could live without them for 6k. :D

.... oh an I got to test drive a 3.0, and OMG its quick, and doesnt even sound like a diesel. Cant wait :D
