Anyone bought/buying a Virgin V6 box?

I dont have a 4K or HDR TV but i'm still considering getting a V6 box in the hopes that it's faster than the current I-want-to-kill-myself-its-so-slow boxes. My one's also noisy as **** too so hopefully that'll be sorted.

Just wondering if anyone had one already and if so, how is it?

Be interested to hear your experience if you do get one.

Doesn't matter not having a 4K TV as there's no 4K content anyway. Epic fail there Virgin.

Not too helpful I grant but it might be worth reading the big Virgin Media thread in networking, as well as checking out AV forums as they've discussed this box fairly extensively.

bump for a old thread, my sky offers is due to end and with quidco etc virgin is terribly cheap £50 a month all done with everything.

I had a old tivo box and couldn't stand it are they any better?

I did get the V6 box in the end and its a good deal better than the standard Tivo jobbie. It's much smaller, quieter and way faster to actually use as well as switching to bluetooth for the remote so you can stick V6 box in a cupboard or something.

I moved from a SkyHD box to a TiVo V6 a few weeks ago and so far I am fairly impressed. It's fast and reasonably efficient to get things done in the OS. I just wish they would add CEC, I don't understand TiVo and VMs attitude to the lack of it.

I have been thinking about as our existing box is going knackered. After about an hour we get a double scan image of the bottom half of the screen.

I had assumed the v6 had cec, its such a handy thing to have. As for using the v6, it is lightening fast compared to the older Tivo. I have TiVo at home which makes me want to scream sometimes, my mate has a v6 and his menus appear instantly compared to what I have to put up with!
