Anyone bought one of OcUK's Edimax cards for WoL?

Hi guys,

Looking to overhaul my network slowly into a GbE network; as essentially I want to have the ability to transfer video files between machines easily, without having to move external drives around, and eventually perhaps store media centrally. All the cabling is Cat5e or above, and the switch and router have been upgraded to GbE capable; so I'm just down to grabbing some new NICs.

I plan to buy the cheap TP-Link PCI card for the oldest machine; however one of the other machines requires Wake on Lan capability as it's used as an XBMC-based HTPC; so I'm looking at the Edimax PCI-E adaptor that OcUK do for about £13. Was just wondering if anyone has bought one recently; as some of these cards setup and work properly via the bus and drivers, but I remember in ye olden days, some cards required a cable connection to the mobo.

Has anyone tried out the WoL capability on these Edimax cards to see how well it works, or whether there are any specific requirements beyond selecting the option in the driver?
