I much prefer the woos finish on the 217 compared to Flux Pro. However almost every youtube video I have seen, shows marks or slight gouges on side of wood. Presumably from putting case down on it';s side, while building in it. Anyone built in this case, and is the wood delicate on it ?

Thanks

I built in it, took some photos (in spoiler tags), here's the thread:

It kinda is delicate (for wood), but so is glass (side panel), and various other thin plastic removable panels. If you treat it with respect it'll be fine. You can always put something down on the surface for protection if you want to be extra careful. I think reviewers must be chucking it around to get the review done quickly and aren't that bothered if it takes damage as it's not their personal case.

How do you find the front fans ? Are they quiet. If I went with this case I'd consider 3 Noctua nf-a14x25 in the front.

Lovely case to work i know that much. As with any case you can get scratches/gouges if not careful.

Pic when building and finished. Added aome extra top fans.

The Lian Li 217 has room for three 120 mm fans at the bottom, but it only comes with two pre-installed under the PSU shroud. I honestly don’t get why they didn’t just include all three — It doesn’t make sense, so I reached out to the retailer to ask why.

According to the retailer, a third fan would sit right above the power supply, which could mean the fan can't blow any air at all or instead pulls in warmer air. They say the pre-installed fan configuration, with two fans at the bottom and a 360mm AIO at the top, is already well optimized. They also say that replacing the bottom fans wouldn’t improve airflow because you want to have it open at the bottom of the chassis with few blockages for air flow. What do you guys think about this?

I’m planning to replace the bottom fans with two or three Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 or Phanteks T30 fans for better airflow. The T30s have higher RPM but are also louder. Is the noise worth the extra performance?

Has anyone tried running three fans at the bottom of the Lian Li 217? Did it make any measurable difference in GPU temperatures, or did airflow get worse because the power supply partially blocks the intake?

Unless you're running a monster graphics card, I wouldn't have thought it was worth it. The 170mm front fans should be doing most of the heavy lifting.
