Anyone care to help me spec a Streamcom Fc8 System ?

This is what i've just ordered along with prices

Streamcom FC8 - £115
Intel I3 3225 - £105
120 gb Samsung 840 - £80
8gb Samsung Green - £55
Streacom 150w PSU - £80
Asus P8Z77 - £145
Streamcom Remote - £20
Windows 8 - £70
Blu Ray Drive - £90

I think thats about it. I've probably got a bit carried away to be honest but my logic was that the case, psu and remote will all last for multiple upgrades so its less important. I'm planning on using it mainly as a HTPC.

Being quite limited on M-ITX Z77 motherboards was a bit of a bugger. I had planned on the Gigabyte one but the placement of the 24pin power cable would've affected the heatpipes.

I have my HTPC in that same case. It is excellent with my setup, really worth getting it. My motherboard seems to support undervolting looking at the bios, I still need to get round to doing that though as I leave it on 24/7.

My setup is:
i3-3225
4gb Crucial Ballistix Sport VLP
Gigabyte GA-H61N-USB3
Crucial 64GB M4 SSD
3.5" 2tb Samsung F4
120W picopsu

Edit - The picopsu just about touches the heat pipes by the way. If need be you can get ATX extension cables to allow relocation. I also run Windows 8 for decreased power usage. I expect my idle to be around 30W with this setup.

I spotted that just in time and got them to change it to a P8H77 board. It's working superbly at the moment, better than I could've imagined.

I think it's the lack of boards that puts people off trinity, especially with the restrictions on board layout. Also the likeliness that a 1155 board will allow much better upgrade options in the future (i5 and i7) whereas the trinity might be replaced with another format sooner.

On a side note. Building the heat sink is a real pain. The instructions have certainly improved from reviews and other builds I'd seen but I seemed to get thermal paste everywhere. Think I used about 10g of the stuff! Getting temps around 40C in XBMC with my 3225.

Trinity route ? Has something to do with The Matrix ?

Trinity is the AMD offering. The A10 5700 looks an excellent chip. If you check out Ace Modders build log he's using one. Reviews all look good to. Especially the built in gpu which is around a Radeon 7660.

Only problem is a lack of ITX boards. I'm surprised Asus haven't got in on it.

Same with my build it went everywhere, It is a pain to build a system in that case but worth it in the end for the silence. Definitely won't be upgrading CPU any time soon as it such a faff.

My Dad asked me to get top of the range ! ha ! So plumped for Intel Core i7-3770T that should be fast enough for a while. I can't decide on Asus P8H77-I or the Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI.

LIke an edjet I ordered both have to cancel one of them. I don't really need wifi but it may come in handy, then again you can buy a dongle for a few £s. Does the Asus one have many unique features ?

These fanles cases are cool and all, but I have doubts. E. g. the radiator on the 77 series chipsets gets very hot when doing big network and disk transfers.
