Well, it's happened again, the clocks have changed. Two years ago this meant I was late for a uni lecture, luckily I wasn't caught out this time, were any of you? Just thought some of the stories might be quite amusing...:p

I was fortunate that my boss emailed me at about 10PM Saturday night and reminded me...I was still a bit late into work Sunday as first Southeastern train towards Dartford isn't until 7:45....what's with that?

No, i check my emails in teh morning and the clock on my laptop updates automatically, also, it changed sat night and i used my laptop sunday, also, i knew about it cause im super clever. I also didn't miss the f1 in the morning :)

Also, how do the clocks going forward make you late for a lecture on sunday?

set my alarm click for 8am forgeting it i stoped my clock from moving forward an hour by itself so i wouldnt miss the f1 on sunday morning.

woke up in a panic realising my mistake but luckily i was up in time anyway

Nope, by happy accident I woke up an hour earlier than I normally do. :)

body clock is a clever thing. Apparently you can wake up at specific times by thinking about that time for about 10 mins before you go to sleep. Your body clock will know how many hours you have been asleep for and you will wake up at that time, unless you are really tired of course. It only works if you are in light sleep at the hour you want to wake. It has worked the few times i've tried it, but obviously i haven't done extensive research to have any proof it wasn't coincidence.

I'm willing to believe that FrostedNipple, I always manage to wake up few minutes before my alarm goes off. But alarm is my safety net just incase. :p

yeah, I set my alarm also :p I heard someone the other day mention something about tapping your head on the pillow for how many hours you want to sleep, so if you want to get up in 8 hours, you tap your head against your pillow 8 times, then get to bed. I suppose they are all ways of getting the brain thinking about 8 hours sleep subconsciously, or even consciously while sleeping.

Funnily enough, my PC changed the time to 2am on Saturday morning whilst I was playing Oblivion. Thinking this was a mistake, I changed it back to 1am to match my watch before going to bed.

On Sunday, realising clocks actually did go forward, I had to then change all my clocks up an hour, so that I could be woken up at 8am in time for work on Monday!

Still, the server dealing with outbound e-mails has gone funny, and they are not being sent..so I may as well have gone in to work later!

Test it out for us tonight, see if it works.

Call me a skeptic but it sounds like boohocky! :p

A Uni lecture on a Sunday?

Two years ago (or it might have been last year at uni, maybe 3 years ago ;)) I hadn't changed the clocks on Sunday either, so I was caught out the following Monday :p

I lol'd at the admiral btw. Two hours forwards, nevermind eh? :D

Got on the nightbus about 230am GMT and it seemed to be taking ages. Checked my phone about 45mins later and it was 415am BST! Wasn't quite with it enough to figure out what happened until the next morning ;( Obviously my phone updated sometime during the trip :)

on Saturday, i was steaming and waiting for a mini bus at 2:30

cue lots of moaning girls about the cold during mass time confusion :D

Over the last few years I have gone into work a hour early or a hour late. Didn't get the best of me this time though (probably because I dont have a weekend job no more)!
