Got some training on Monday and Tuesday for the F5 Load balancing essentials training course.

I wanted to try and travel light if possible, is there any need for me to bring a laptop or do you think they will supply any machines/training matirial? I will try and get on contact with them, but as im travelling to London, and its Saturday tomorrow, I may not be able to get hold of them

Ideally I would like to go down with my tablet only and not have to lug around my 19" laptop/charger.

Also if you have, how did you find the F5 essentials training?

They (the company providing the training) should be supplying all equipment required for the course. I've never been on a course where I have had to use/supply my own tools, laptop or anything else.

Usually a ring binder full of stuff you'll probably never look at ever again yet still keep on a shelf or in a drawer ;)

Sweet :) going to travel light then, tablet, pen and paper :p

Will give a review after if anyone is remotely interested :p

I have memories of doing courses which asked you to bring a laptop - Siemens comes to mind.

Iv got a copy of the course details and doesn't state about having to bring any equipment or laptop, I would assume they are running virtualised copies of F5 big ip for training and maybe have some machines to connect to it with. No idea

Not sure if I should or not

Anyway, what if I didn't have a work laptop, but had a work desktop and was sent on the course? :p

I'd assume unless they specify you need to bring a laptop that you don't, but if you can bring one and ditch the tablet then I would, just because it's more useful.

A lot of the other courses run by them request students to bring their own laptop, so read into that what you will.
