Anyone else 360 scratch their discs?

They didn't ask me for proof of puchase or even where I bought it from, so it's got to be worth trying. I also hadn't previously registered with them, apart from setting up my live account of course.

Anyway, my Forza 2 seems to be working ok for the moment (touch MDF). I cleaned the scratch a lot and while it's still there it may have helped. Won't know for sure until I've raced every track. I'm green dot free though :)

fish, when you forza didnt work what was happening? When my scratch was on the disc, the "turn 10" splash screen at the start wasn't there, aload of distored colours was instead. Certain tracks wouldnt load, and crashed the game and the little video clips when you hover over time trials and that where "scrambled". It was screwed!

Gave it a hard rub though and it was fine! I marked my CD tray, so if when I get it back its still got that mark on it I will know they havent changed it and i will be angry

I got a feeling they wil change the mobo again... which they have already done a month ago!

I put a mark on mine too and got the same one back. As for Forza, no I never had any corruption or crashing, the drive would just spin down, then about half the time it would make the clicking noises as it scratched the disc and then it would say it couldn't read the disc and exit to the dash. It was intermittent though and most of the time it was fine. It never got to the point where the game wouldn't start.

Ill post here if my 360 comes back witrh the mark still on it too... then people shouldnt bother sending it back for a new DVD drive cos it would appear they cannot be bothered to do it!

Got my Forza 2 disc changed at blockbuster :)

Legally? Or did you rent it out and "accidentally" put the wrong disc back in the box when you returned it?

I did think of doing that but the discs they rent out are often in an awful state. Nah, just took it back and asked the guy if he would swap it. He said he would as long as it wasn't scratched, then looked at it, clearly saw the scratch (since he looked very closely at it), then just gave me a brand new one off the shelf :)

I guess he meant as long as it didn't have any big scratches than I had done.

Ah ok got ya, mine works now thankfully, just waiting for my xbox to come back from MS... getting urges to carry on playing crackdown :(

Prob gonna grab a PS3 next week too, really want to play Sigma, it looks awesome!
