Anyone else all nighting it?

What do you do titchard?

Nothing to fancy - I work for Fujitsu on a managed service desk (Basically an outsourced helpdesk for other companies and sort out getting approriate teams to fix the problems) It's first line work - but it is allowing me to stock-pile a lot of cash for my Masters degree I am saving for.

We do a "3 on 3 off" system, 3 twelve hour days doing 0800 - 2000 then for the next set of shifts we do 2000 - 0800. We just do alternate days/nights/days/nights with 3 days off in between.

Nights are nice, really - generally quiet (Unless some network team breaks something) and I get to do a lot of reading and such.

wish my night shifts at work where quiet! just never happens. masters in what?

Haha! Some nights we just get absolutely battered, we take calls for Coca Cola overnight for the machines that are installed in pubs etc - some nights (usually coming upto the weekend) we get so many calls you can't even put the phone down properly before the next one comes through.

Tonight definatly has been a "are you sure the email servers and phones are actually working?" night.

ahh fair enough i take it back. which masters are you saving for?

I am saving to do hopefully do a MSc in Forensic Computing at Stafford - I just need to save up the cash and also improve my Java work before I can get on the course. I am in no rush at the moment, I would rather take a little longer and work and save more toward my course and be more prepared academically than rush into doing it ASAP thinking "I'll be too older otherwise!!!!"

i had an early night and went to bed at 6pm , got woken up by the wife getting in the bed at 11:40pm so got jiggy with her and then felt awake so im just playing games until the school run

I've also realised that having friends in america is rather handy for situations like this.
