Anyone else been VAC banned, without cheating?

I get accused and sometimes booted from servers for 'hacking' lol.

People really hate losing.

As others pointed out, you don't lose a Steam account if you get VAC banned. Your games work just fine, it's just that you won't be playing Valve's own games online anymore. The issue is elsewhere, probably wrong login information but could be an issue on the side of Steam too.

It's stupid as it ruins other peoples' games. Don't want to be banned don't do it. However if you can prove your account was hijacked it should be capable of being unbanned.

Cheaters ruin online games for legitimate players, so I have no sympathy whatsoever. They can either adhere to the terms of service which they agreed to upon creating a Steam account, or they can bugger off elsewhere.

In a game like CS or TF2 hacking is stupid.
I have used wallhacks before and had a custom skins mod that made all t's bright red and all ct's bright blue.

Using an aimbot seems really pointless, though. It stops the game even being fun

but you dont get banned for killing people online...its for the cheating part.
cheating in sports (using certain performance enhancing drugs) also gets you banned and it usually isnt for a month.

besides if you got banned from a server for cheating....you can always go out and buy another copy and start playing by the rules.

I believe that if your account was hijacked and someone cheated purposely you should be unbanned. But i doubt they will do that.

Never cheated or been banned in the 5 years ive had steam

most of the mods I play only require you to change details in one of the config files, guess that's fine then :confused:

Changing details in the config files will never get you banned. Most servers will force the settings to legal values when you connect.
