Anyone else dislike Aero (desktop style)?

Installed a couple of machines recently with Windows 7 (Pro), and almost immediately I realised how much I dislike the Aero feature. Mainly it's the fact you can see through the window you're working on, seeing a blurred version of what's below - What's the point of that other than to distract you?

An example I found online - http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs23/i/2008/001/f/b/Windows_Aero_Beta_for_WB_by_fediaFedia.png

Shame you can't disable the Aero feature, but retain the window preview though where you hover over the taskbar icon and get a preview of the window up. Seems when you disable Aero, you get a text description instead.

In fact, ideally, I'd rather even turn off too really.

ps: I know you can set the transparency value, but TBH just prefer setting the style to a simpler one :)

I like being able to recall quickly what's in the window behind the one I'm viewing. A swift glance through the translucent 'frame' makes it usually very easy to identify.

As you said, you can change the transparency feature, so why don't you?

One of the first things i do when installing windows is turn aero off and set the task bar buttons to never combine. Every PC is our office is set up this way now because of me :)

Windows 7 Aero is beautiful.

Hate it all. I always have my PC set to Windows Classic.
Part of this is so I don't have to switch my mind between remembering where everything is on the work PC and where it is on the home PC. Everything is laid out the same.
I'm also a Mac-Hater, so graphically opulent dynamic UIs look stupid to me. I like it neat and tidy.
