Because I certainly am finding it.

When I was younger, I used to literally play games like Tekken and street fighter all of the time. Play Racing games like GT 1 and 2, and loved pretty much everything, not really in to games like FPS and 3rd person games.

Now its soooo different. It is almost a pain to play fighting games. SOme I dont mind, Like Marvel Vs Capcom 2, and soul calibur and on occasion street fighter, but I play them so much less. Racing games I hate now, I find the "going around a track" so boring...

Even RPG's are changing to me. The last Japanese RPG I enjoyed was Kingdom Hearts 2... I imported FF12 for the PS2 (USA version) and now frankly I dont even know where the hell it is. Probablly left around a friends house cause I havent played it in frankly ever. However, Western style RPG's I am loving... I cant wait to get my new system to be able to play never winter nights. KOTOR 1 and 2 are just awesome, and Oblivion too.

I used to love Final Fantasy, I got to level 99, ALL materia at max, several Master Summons, Several Master Magics and everything else, got all my stats to 255, murdered emerald and ruby weapons (as in, I could literally no touch the controller and my characters would kill them) and now, I still LIKE Japanese RPG's, but they need to be really special.

FPS games are a major staple too, around half of my 360 games are shooting or FPS based, I stop playing something like CS for a while, then jump back on it with vengence.

3rd person, pretty much the same thing, I loved GRAW and so many other titles in the 3rd person range, I used to hate these games!

Anyone else like that, or am I just alone :)

To some extent. In this thread I talked a little bit about waning interest in games, and how I've moved away from the 'deep' games I used to love a child into more brainless shooters/racers: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17648158

I'd say probably the biggest change is that I'm mosting playing singleplayer games now. 1998-2003 were very much dominated by deathmatch for me, whereas in recent years I've been focussing more on SP games.

It's a shame that I'm a lot more shallow now, as there's quite a few games that I know I'd love if I could be bothered to persevere.

I find my gaming taste changes back and forth every 2 years or so strangely enough. I go from playing MMORPG's for a long time until i'm bored, play some RPGs for a few months, then FPS' for a month or two then back to MMORPG's.

Bored of WoW now, just finished Icewind Dale 2 and KOTOR1, just ordered BF2142 so i'll play that for a few months until some new fandangled MMORPG is out. :p

I'm branching out a bit, the last two games I've gotten into are Oblivion and Dawn of War, and I've never played a medieval type RPG before, or an RTS to any real extent, so they're both quite new to me. I love them both though. FPS and racing games still appeal to me, I just want something a bit deeper sometimes these days.

I still love platformers though, I can't see that ever changing :D

Not surprised ... think you played them all :D

My gaming habits really, really annoy me.

I can't seem to stick to anything for very long. I play one game, read up on something that looks more interesting whilst inbetween, end up playing that but whilst playing that, read up on something else and I just seem to keep getting bored of everything.

The main problem is, I always see something that requires me too spend far too much money. I end up spending it and then a few days later getting bored.

As ive got older im more into sims, funny though i still dont read the manual and try to master it without..

trying lock on at the mo and carnt make the thing fire lol

When i was a kid i was a console man. I has nes and snes and liked mario and streetfighter 2 and zelda games. Was also a computer man with spectrum and amiga and atari st. Where i liked dungeon and dragon games as in party of 4 or somit and going on virtual world doing quests etc like swords and serpents type games on nes.

On the computers i played dizzy games, sabatour 2 on speccy, great escape and starwars etc. On the amiga and atari st i played erm, platform games and manager games i believe. I also played games like colonization a lot. Tho didnt like civ on them computers. Oh and elite 2 Frontiers was also a lot played.

These days im all medal of honor spearhead, gta, space shoot em up games like bridge commander and stuff. Tho my favourites have always been point and click adventure games, and beat em ups on consoles (sf2 and MK) and scifi games like startrek and starwars. I do like the occasional car game like flatout 2 and i really liked toca 2 on ps1 along with destruction derby 2.

I'd say as you grow older you like to play more involved games and challange yourself more. Whereas when your young you like games where you pick up and play for 10 mins to an hour.

Tho past year or two i have gotten so many pc games i just generally play em for a bit and either stop and play somit else when im bored or when i have somit new and the other games get forgotten and generally think to myself meh dont feel like playin that as it takes too long or takes too much thinking etc.

Supose thats why i play medal of honor spearhead most these days its easy to get into i can play for a bit and quit and feel a good session just then i have done.

Once i upgrade to a x1950 pro i think ill be playing oblivion and some rpg like gothic 3 and dark messiah more.

AOE2 - Empire Earth - Call Of Duty - BF-2/CS:S - Oblivion - Company of Heroes

All the while playing Footie Manager!

Empire Earth and Call of Duty were my favourites, got really quite good at them. Same thing is happening with Company of Heroes. :)

AOE2 I used to play every saturday from like 5am-12am because freeserve was off-peak! I was only about 10 I think, used to suck big time.

I play anything that is rated highly (I buy based on reviews usually). Max Payne, Dues Ex. I never bought WOW simply because of the recurring payment costs, I'm sure I'd of loved it.

This doesn't include consoles, I own all Final Fantasy's and Pro Evo's released since PS1 days. Got all the GT's etc.etc. Resident Evil.

So yeah, anything thats good really. :)

my tastes are more specific but have still changed a fair amount by my standards... i used to be heavily into tactical fps's the best naturally being the rainbow 6 series... Since n00bi soft have totally ruined these though i have decided to go completely in the opposite direction and play the fastest most hardcore twitch based fps there is... this will probably be the new ut if its any good we will see
