hey guys,

just about had enough of ppl ringing me up from t-mobile and the likes every few hours tryin to sell me mobile phones... this is to my landline and its always foreigners on the end of a crackly line which i cannot make out.

this bugs the life outa me.. anyone else plagued with this? i am curious to know if there is any way to combat this or where would i report it to?

There appears to be no way to trace the calls.

Im in northern ireland so not sure if it applies to the mainland but believe me it annoys me to the core!

on sunday we had 4 calls from t-mobile!

any help?

TIA

I had the same with O2, so I got a new free sim card and new number and not had them since. Somebody could have easily stuck your number somewhere to answer surveys.

That wouldn't help calls to his landline...

I had the same. I signed up to TPS and they stopped. I do still get a random call from India trying to sell me a mobile phone contract but it's far less frequent.

TPS is an excellent service. I used to work in telesales and when a "customer" would complain I would apologise and suggest TPS, it's partly why I was sacked. :p

thanks a lot for the link...

went to the site and registered....

"the number you have asked to ready has already been registered"

BUMMER!

Maybe a few guys have just slipped through the noose?

Il remind them next time that we are on TPS and see if they stop.

Cheers guys

I used to work in telesales and we were told that if we ever got through to someone on TPS that we were to say that we were very very VERY sorry and remove them from the database right away as the company can be fined big money for ringing TPS people (i think it was in the thousands)
So either ring TPS and inform them of the company that is breaking the rules or inform the company next time they ring you.

On another note, you have the right to request that a company removes all customer records and infomation it has on you and it must do so right away.

They ought to, its against the law IIRC.
Unfortunately mistakes happen and there's nothing that can be done about it. In these situations it's just best to tell the person on the phone that you're subscribed to the TPS and they will let their manager know so that they can strike your number off their system. :)

My family gets loads back at home in Bristol, mortagages, loans, phones you name it. I'll have to look into TPS, cheers :)

i signed up to tps, and now i get no calls whatsoever.

appart from the bank with their "super dooper new [insert rubbish here] for my credit card"

......which is fine by me, because i use my ccard a lot and if they can lower my apr whatsit then it's all good :D
