For instance me and a friend were playing a game. I thought the rules were broken so i spoke up like u do. Friend disagreed so we had a few more sentences then he says cba and quit. Anybody else get this from so called friends just cos u were not sure of a rule so spoke up and they just act like a fresh noob and be a quitter or is it just me that makes my blood boil for the immaturity of it.

Never really had an online game with rules implicitly set up per se..unless you're talking AWPs in CS 1.6. People would tend to take that quite seriously. Dunno about friends randomly quitting over agreed rules though..

hmm..i suppose the closest anecdote to that would be made up cease fires in Total Annihilation..Conversation after breaking it went something along the lines of 'omgwtf', 'lol', ':P' -continue play-..

Depends on the game.

When you try to set up a friendly game, usually one or two friends will take it super seriously and just make everyone else annoyed. They go into alpha 'MUST PROVE I AM THE BEST' mode to make a point with people who really don't care.

And yes, I've rage quit games when people do that.

The only game where rules were a heavy subject were CS and TFC. In tfc most of the rules were enforced by server admin and end up with the rule breaker getting kicked anyway.

I think L4D public servers is another good example. I cant wait to get back to the uk and play with some ocuk'ers ...

For example, I was playing on l4d with a russian guy, a random and a german guy. There was an issue with med packs with the russian guy and myself in the red. We find 1 health pack ... the russian guy (for some reason) heals me and picks up the kit. The german kicks off massively on voice 'you're a ******* noob etc.' He thinks i have taken the kit. I try to explain and he aint having it. The random guy then tk's him and thats the game ruined.

Its a shame, but sometimes people just have to take the keyboards out of the holsters and battle ... rage quitting is unfortunately not a new thing.

The amount of quitting on games in horrible. On a friends wee recently on Tiger Woods, I set up for a nice 18 holes with some random guy off the net. Settled down for a couple of hours gaming -- thought 'this should be good'.

First shot -- I do the best shot in my life. 340 yards, straight down the middle, almost on the green.

I'm happy/excited. And the opposition doesn't say a aingle word -- doesn't take a single shot -- just quits. The whole game over. 1 shot. Back to lobby. I had just 45 seconds enjoyment, and it was only 1 shot out of maybe 80!! I hate the anonymity of the web ... people can act like an a$$ and not have the repercussions the behaviour would in real life ... :(

Another pet gripe I have is games advertise for 'noobs welcome' then when you join as a noob they absolutely smash you to peices .. and of course they weren't noobs or even intermediate. They were pro's that are so sad and lonely they have to big themselves up by smashing noobs up, after ADVERTISING just for noobs to join their game!!

Then you see their stats and its like '210 wins, 3 losses' -- and their game was called 'Noobs only'. I mean -- come on mate -- grow up ...

Hmpf!
