If I watch a youtube video or something on mute, I think I can hear sound. If a person is talking I think I can hear them. Its very weird.

Also with games on mute I think I can hear the game sometimes.

Does anyone get this? Is this something everyone gets?

Yeah I can mute things, but can still hear it just on the cusp of hearing. It's strange.

Press mute.. turn up the volume.. does the 'talking' get louder? If not.. then it's just you.

I sleep with a fan on, on a night and sometimes, say if someone is playing loud music in the street or a constant sound annoys me, when i go to bed i can sometimes hear that sound, even though its not actually there, i know its not exactly the same i reckon its down to matrixing with the noise of the fan.

Yes, sometimes after ive been gaming for a while i can still "hear" the background music of the game - it can be rather wierd...

I get the same thing, mute on windows 7 doesn't actually cut off the audio port evidently, just dampens it down a lot.

Games that I've played throughout my life like red alert 2 have sound despite the speakers being off, if only for a moment. That's more association though I suppose.
